Aunt Carol was always such a big presence in my life growing up in Orlando, holidays and special events together and the last few years we became closer as she was such a great support for Jodi and I with our mom and dad’s health declining. She always called Dad and checked in with him as he struggled with the anxiety and depression as he worried about Anne and their new living situation. I am so grateful Aunt Carol and I were able to spend some time together going out to lunch and enjoying some old memories over a glass of wine. She and Jodi talked often. It was just last month she texted me and wanted an update on mom and dad and I sure will miss those “checking in” texts I often got from her. Our hearts are so heavy she is gone but knowing she is now back with Lou, her sisters, and her parents is a comforting thing. Deb and Martin and all of your families, our deepest sympathy. I live in Florida and a friend of Carol's sister, Anne. I had spoken to Carol before she moved to Georgia. Know being close to family brought her much joy and smiles when video chatting with her great grandson. Reply to this comment

I will always remember Grammy's sweet potato casserole (with the marshmallows) and her pickled eggs. I loved our trip(s) to Disney World in Orlando and we also went to the beach several times. I loved "Florida sledding" on cardboard boxes on grassy hills, and how her and Pappy spoiled us with so many presents at Christmas time. I also loved hearing about her growing up in Pennsylvania and her own grandparents that she loved dearly. Lastly, I loved talking to her about Matthew McConaughey, Nascar, and of course one of her favorite shows New Amsterdam. She will be missed but always remembered. Reply to this comment
