Emmett Murl Orr, Age 75 of Villa Rica passed away on Sunday December 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Orr, sisters Valeria Atkins and Mary Cobb, Brothers James, Benny and Frank Orr.
He was survived by his daughters Karen Cook and Kathy Orr and husband Michael Stover, grandchildren Jason Brooks and his wife Charlotte, Christopher Brooks, Courtney Davis and her husband Justin, Cory Brooks and Katelynn Lewis. Great grandchildren Rylee, Savannah, Connor, Ethan and Paxton, numerous nieces and nephews.
Emmett had a true servant’s heart and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, the citizens of Marietta as Police Officer in the Motors division and was retired from Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Samuel L Lawrence Masonic Lodge and a very active member of the Yaarab Shrine Director’s Staff.
Emmett enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved riding his motorcycle across the United States and Canada, enjoyed camping and was also a big Nascar fan. Emmett never met a stranger and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He was one of Santa’s biggest helpers and took great joy in spreading Christmas cheer.
Memorial service will be held at Creekside Fellowship Church 585 Old Alabama Road, Cartersville, GA 30120 on January 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Abernathy officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Emmett Orr.
