James A. Massengill
Retired MSGT James Arland Massengill died at home on May 27th. Jim was born in Hickory Flat, MS and grew up in New Albany, MS. He was the son of Chesley & Ruth Massengill. Upon graduating from New Albany High School, he enlisted in the USAF, where he served 20 years. Later, he owned and operated Jim’s Food Mart in Warner Robins, GA for 15 years. His parents and 2 sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nell Anderson Massengill, 2 children, Paul (Teresa) Long, Sherry (Ed) Parker, 3 grandchildren, 6 g-grandchildren, brothers, Doug (Snezjania) Massengill, Amos (Mamie) Massengill, 2 nieces, and several nephews. A memorial will be held at Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation Services in Acworth, GA on June 6th, 2pm.
