Carl Lee

Carl Lee, Jr. was born at Mare Island Naval Base Hospital in California, the only child of Carl and Peggy Lee. He

was a Navy brat and lived in many states growing up, hence his love of travel.

Carl graduated from San Fernando High School in 1960 and later married Barbara Jean Tutt. In 1961 he

joined the Airforce and was stationed at Castle AFB during the Vietnam War Era and was later stationed in

England in 1963. Their first son Carl Anthony Lee was born in England in 1965 and later his second son Craig

Parish Lee was born in Encino, California 1966. In 1969, Carl met Linnie Ware at IBM, where they both worked. Later in 1970, they married, and to this union,

Carl Lee, III was born in 1974 and then Sean Eric Lee in 1976. Carl continued his formal education and attained a BS in Business Management from San Jose State University in 1973.

Carl retired in 2008 with 42 years of service to the IBM Corporation. He acquired many accolades with words

from his colleagues describing him as “unflappable”. Always calm, a man of few words, quiet spirit, but a powerful presence.

Carl loved working with the land, raising horses, and other animals. He loved being with friends, family, and

entertaining especially around the holidays. It was once said “the Christmas Party at the Lee’s gets you in the

Christmas spirit”. He was the best bartender and a superb “host” and rolled out the red carpet for his guests.

He loved attending outdoor and indoor concerts, teaching the children, and grand chess at an early age. He

was a huge sports enthusiast and loved basketball, track and field, especially football and the Niners.

On November 11, 2021, Carl Lee, Jr.- a quiet man of few words, a great listener, and a true gentleman passed

away in his sleep with his wife by his side. He departed this life to join his parents, Carl and Peggy Jean Lee.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his beloved wife of 51 years, Linnie B. Ware Lee, Four sons, eight

grandchildren, and four daughters-in-law:

• Carl Anthony Lee (Angela Dickerson Lee), Jordan Nicole, Joshua Anthony, and Jonah Miles Lee

• Craig Parish Lee (Memuna Mustapha Lee) Simone Natanya Parish and Giselle Barbara Lee

• Carl Lee, III (Magdalena Yohannes Lee) Brittany Kanuiokalani Manley-Gibson (David Gibson),
