Eva Patricia Taylor

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I’d rather be a door keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. ~ Psalm 84:10

On October 26, 2020 God called our beloved Eva Patricia Taylor to her eternal resting place. Born March 12, 1962, a twin, in La Ceiba, Honduras, to the union of Robert and Daisy Taylor. The family came to the U.S. and made New Orleans, LA their new home. At a very young age, Eva accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. Lester Guidery. It was then that she started her Christian journey and was a faithful and dedicated servant of God. She went on to become a member of the Sunday School, served as a Junior Usher, a member of the Youth Choir & the Gospel Chorus, served as Superintendent of the Sunday School and was also involved in numerous other church activities until her last breath.

She attended Booker T. Washington Sr. High and participated in the D.E. (Distributed Education) Program, as well as, being a member of the R.O.T.C. (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps). She went on to attend Louisiana State University and later served in The United States Air Force.

Eva faithfully served God, her children, family, country, community, friends, employers and even strangers in need. She was always ready and willing to serve… that’s just who she was. Ecclesiastes 9:10 perfectly describes the kind of woman she was - Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might. And if there ever was a word to describe Eva it would be “LOVE”.

In 2001, she made Atlanta, GA her home and when her family evacuated from New Orleans (August 2005) because of Hurricane Katrina, God directed her path to Salem Bible Church where she served faithfully as a God’s First Door Keeper. Her leukemia journey started in November 2019, but she remained strong and her faith in God was never compromised. Every Sunday, whether in a hospital bed or receiving her treatments in the clinic, she was streaming her church service and inviting others to do the same. Of course you know she had to pose for her Sunday photos and post them - something she did every Sunday, she called it Church Flow. Anyone who heard or read Eva’s testimonies would know that she had accepted God’s will for her life, and as she said I’m “OK WITH THAT”. God granted her the desires of her heart and she was surrounded with her family and lots of tender loving care to the very end.

Eva is survived by her two precious and amazing daughters, the pride and joys of her life: Jasmine Glasgow (Keston Glasgow) and Jade Forest; Mother, Daisy E. Taylor; Siblings, Marigold Carter (Hansel Carter Jr.), Scarlet Walker (Edward Walker Jr.), Daisy M. Taylor, Tazania Meadows (Troy Meadows), Elder Robert S. Taylor Jr., and Beloved Sister in Love, Elder Sybil Taylor; seven nieces and seven nephews, five great nieces and six great nephews, a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Eva is preceded in death by her Father: Robert S. Taylor Sr., Sister: Pamela Taylor, Maxine Taylor and little brother George Taylor.

We miss your beautiful smile, free spirit, stylish fashion, your outgoing and unique personality and most of all… your presence. Servant Of God: “WELL DONE.” We thank God a million times over for the time He loaned you to us. Without question, your spirit will live on in us forever. xo
