A kind and caring friend, no matter how great the distance. Jay will be missed. My thoughts are with Kim, Megan and Luke, the grandkids, and his family and friends. We are all so fortunate to have known Jay. Reply to this comment

Jay was a great friend and neighbor. He was a man’s man, loved and respected in our community. He was a great supporter of our local police department and local Veterans. I had the honor to know Jay through our involvement in our church small group. His strong faith coupled with his kind and gentle understanding of the human condition made Jay a truly special person. I will personally miss sharing time and the occasional cigar with Jay. I spoke with him as recently as last Thursday. We were talking about what we would be cooking on the smoker for Memorial Day. As difficult as his passing is for his friends and family I know that Jay is in a better place. He will be missed and remembered by many. God Bless the Thomas family in their time of loss. One of a kind, and one of the best ever. Not surprised at all but so heartwarming to see that his Georgia family all feel the same way as his Family here in Illinois ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Reply to this comment

Jay was contagiously kind with a huge heart, and one of the more sincere people I’ve come across. While I can without any hestitation he lived an extraordinary and happy life, and is in a better place, he will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family and close ones. Reply to this comment

It is appropriate to say Jay had a "style" about himself! The coffee mug or whatever beverage of choice that day and his cigar. You blessed so many with your friendship thank you for being YOU! Reply to this comment

Jay was one of the first people I met when I opened business here. He was very helpful in getting me integrated with other business people and organizations. He was a client and a friend. I will miss you Jay. Reply to this comment

Jay was a huge supporter of the Acworth Police Department. He was a Citizens Police Academy Graduate and is responsible for the "I Support Acworth Police Department" magnets you see on the backs of cars all over town and beyond. God Bless the family along with this whole community who will always think so highly of Jay! Jay made a difference and his departure will leave a gap. Reply to this comment

It was always a pleasure to run into Jay in random places around town. He told great stories and had a gentle soul. He was good to my son Gabe. Still miss Big City Deli. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim and his family at this heartbreaking time. Reply to this comment
