Kenneth Flatmoe 85, formerly of Sturgis, SD, passed away peacefully at his home in Cartersville, GA on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021.

Ken was born in Lemmon, SD to Kristoffer and Petra (Kornstad) Flatmoe on April 4, 1936. The youngest of six children, he grew up on the family farm near Meadow and attended the Coal Springs school up through the 8th grade.

On April 29th, 1956 he married Marlene Sippert in Faith, SD. Ken was drafted into the U.S. Army on December 4th, 1956, and was stationed in Germany. They raised their family together in Sturgis until her death on January 14th, 1986.

Ken then married Charlotte Conley on February 14th, 1987 in Rapid City, SD. They resided in Sturgis until Ken retired in 2012 from Dakota Lube & Exhaust in Belle Fourche, SD. They moved to Cartersville, GA in 2013 where they enjoyed their time together until his death.

Ken loved his Norwegian heritage. He made several trips to Norway, which reconnected the family ties between the two countries. He was a Norwegian at heart, loving his lutefisk, lefse, and sweets.
