Mary Cay Baker Jordan (Cay), 64, of Austell, Georgia passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on November 15, 2020.

Cay was born in New Jersey to the late William Wright Baker and Jeannette Catherine Root Baker. She graduated from Waverly Junior Senior High School in New York in 1974. Cay studied business at Central City Business Institute (Class of 1975) and in 1984, earned a degree in Behavioral Science from Cedarville University. She also studied American Sign Language and enjoyed communing with the deaf throughout her adult life.

Cay was married to Kevin Donald Jordan from 1976 – 2004. During her years as a military wife, Cay traveled extensively, living in both Japan and Germany. Their son James Joseph Jordan (Joey), was born in Tokyo in 1982.

Cay worked for the American Red Cross from 1990 – 1995. She went on to work for several non-profit organizations, including Christ Child Senior Center in Nebraska as a social worker. She was passionate about counseling and ministering to others. In 2005, Cay moved to Georgia where she was employed by State Farm Insurance Agency until the time of her death.

She was recently water-baptized in the Catholic Church. Cay loved all animals, but dogs most of all. She loved dolphins, mermaids and anything related to water. A morning swim was part of her daily routine followed by a hearty breakfast. Cay enjoyed dining out, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She is also survived by her two sisters and their families: Julie Dean (Mike) of Maryland and their daughters (Cay’s nieces) Shawna Troutman and Laura Dean; Amy Baker Williams (Gerald) of Powder Springs, Georgia, and their sons (Cay’s nephews) Kasey and Skyler.
