Mary Ruth Ruble Steen peacefully passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 surrounded by her family and her loving caretakers in Woodstock, Georgia. She was born in Newport, Tennessee in 1931 and attended Saint Mary’s college in Raleigh, North Carolina. There she met her husband John Burton Steen and they were married in 1951. They had 2 children, Marion and John. Her family moved many times up and down the east coast until they settled in Atlanta in 1969. She retired with her husband in Marietta, Georgia. She is survived by her son John and his wife Allyson, their children John and Courtney, and her great-grand-daughter Daphne Reed. She is also survived by son-in-law James Long and his children Charles and Andrew, and her great-granddaughter Hailee Long.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John and her daughter, Marion (Mary Jo).  Her bright spirit and humor was enjoyed by everyone she met and indeed, she will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 10:30am at the Legacy Church Marietta campus, 1040 Blackwell Road, Marietta GA 30366
