Nancy Joann (Walsh) Thibault

Nancy Joann (Walsh) Thibault, age 82, of McDonough, GA died March 10, 2021. Nancy graduated from Cony High School, Augusta, ME in 1957 and thereafter worked at the Maine Bureau of Taxation. On July 20, 1959, Mrs. Thibault was married to Airman Robert Thibault of Chelsea, MA. The newlyweds were immediately stationed in Albuquerque, NM, before military assignments in Tokyo, Japan, Bangkok, Thailand, Washington, DC and Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines.

Mrs. Thibault worked as a secretary for the Charles (MD) County and Henry (GA) County Boards of Education where she was admired for her diligence, dedication and tireless commitment. She was a devout member of St. James Catholic Church in McDonough for many years, serving as Council of Catholic Women president, church kitchen coordinator, and eucharistic minister. Nancy was selected St. James Parish Woman of the Year, in 2008. She was a devoted wife and mother, a doting grandmother, and a cherished friend, who cared deeply for her family and community. She believed strongly in honoring God with her time and talents and found immense joy in serving others; often delivering food to the hungry, visiting the home bound, distributing the Holy Eucharist to the ill, and helping anyone in need.

Born on November 10, 1938 in Augusta, ME, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Genevieve(Sterling) Walsh. Mrs. Thibault was the sixth of eight children. Mrs. Thibault is survived by her children Timothy R. Thibault, Gainesville, VA; Tina (Matthew) O’Connor, Marietta, GA; and grand children: Cassidy Rowell Thibault, Robert Cole Thibault, William Braden Vincent, Elliana Faith Vincent, Patrick Kealan O’Connor, and Kaitlyn Alana O’Connor. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

If desired, donations may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities Atlanta or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
