Richard Emmett

Richard Emmett was born July 27, 1943, to Bud and Clara Emmett. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1969 after an 11-month tour in Vietnam. The most life-changing experience for Richard was in 1981 when he gave his heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ. This is when he really started living! Richard was a faithful child of God and loved his family. He never met a stranger and always found humor in everything. Since his passing on October 8, 2022, he is now enjoying the wonders of his Heavenly home with loved ones that have gone on before him. He is survived by his children, Richard Emmett Jr. and Danny Emmett, his step-children, Mark Hancock (Spouse Michelle), Sheila Hancock, and Laura Hall (Spouse Randy), and several precious grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, his sisters Kathy Day, and Vicki Evans, Debbie Thurman (Spouse Bobby), and Peggy Bowman, his brothers Tommy Emmett and Troy Emmett (Spouse Faith), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is greatly missed already but we rejoice in his great joy now! Rest in peace our brother, father, and friend. Last and least, he leaves behind his caregiver and wife in Spirit, Bonnie Lavonne Fowler.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 24, 2022, at 12:00 PM at the New Covenant Church of Cartersville,  5425 Covenant Rd NE, Cartersville, GA. 30120, with burial at Georgia National Cemetery to follow.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  Pastor James Black Officiating.
