Sandra Ann Chappell (née Glawson) passed away on the morning of Monday, November 19, 2018.  She was sixty-five.  Sandra was a lifelong resident of Bartow County and spent much of her life assisting those in her community.  She spent most of her working years at the Department of Family and Children Services and other state agencies.  Her off-hours were often filled with helping children, family, and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Glawson and her son, Michael Grant.  She is survived by her husband Wilfred Dale Chappell and four children:  Matthew Scott, Shannon Grant, Jason Chappell, and Adam Chappell (Sarah).  She is also survived by two siblings [Susan Glawson and Thomas Glawson (Cindy)], three nieces, three nephews, and two grandchildren.

Details on a memorial service are still being finalized.  Please check the Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation Services website for more information as it becomes available or contact a family member.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a local charity you think Sandra would have supported.  Suggested charities include (but are not limited to) Hope for Christmas and The Women’s Resource Center.  Sandra’s life was spent helping those who needed it, especially children, the elderly, the infirmed, and the poor, and the family hopes to continue this legacy of generosity in her name.   Condolences can be left for the family at GeorgiaFuneralCare.com

One of the nicest people I ever came across. I was very fortunate to work with her and getting to know her as a person. Reply to this comment

What a legacy Mrs. Chapell has left behind. We are so sorry for your loss and hope that you will be comforted by the Bible's hope of a resurrection where we will see our loved ones again and live forever on peaceful conditions on earth. The former things will not be called to mind (Isaiah 65: 17) and she will be overjoyed to know that children, women, and the poor will all live in safety and abundance Isaiah 65: 21-25) Reply to this comment

You will be missed by all those children here on Earth that you have. And I pray they know Jesus and they will see you soon. Reply to this comment

This is the most caring woman every introduced it this world. She took me and my little sister in when we were children. She rised me to be the best person I could be. We had are disagreements sure, but she never treat us like foster kids. She treat us like her own kids. I love you so much Mom I miss you so much. I hope you are looking down from heaven and smiling. I'll never forget you as long as I live. You were my best friend and my mom. Hope you are having a good time in heaven. Don't worry about us we will push through, after all you rised us not to look back and push through to be the best person we can be. Sincerely Your SON.. Matthew Blake Glawson. Reply to this comment
