October 17th, 1969 to November 1st, 2021 

Lori Ellen Heist, 52, of New Mexico, formerly Marietta, GA, went to be home with our Lord on Monday, November 1, 2021. She was born October 17, 1969, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to  Julie and Marshall Heist. 

Lori went to cosmetology school after she graduated High School in Sterling Heights, Michigan.  She worked as a hairstylist until her passing. She was very artistic and loved making people feel beautiful. She enjoyed laughing, traveling and most of all loved being an aunt to her nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her parents, Julie and Marshall (Diane) Heist; sisters, Kristin Hughes and  Jennifer (Chad) Medley; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Christopher, and Brayden Hughes; Emma,  Ben and Jake Medley; aunts and uncle, Cathy Szkody, Alan (Nancy) Matejak; cousins and beloved dog, Oakleigh. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mitchell &  Genevieve Matejak; paternal grandmother, Janet Heist-Shreve; and brother-in-law, Chris  Hughes. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, in Transfiguration Catholic  Church, Marietta, GA 30066. A light lunch will be served after mass for family and friends.
