Rebekah Rachel Davidson (Sanders) “Becky”
Becky Davidson passed away at age 52 from ovarian cancer on the evening of August 26th, 2020. She lived most of her life in Cartersville, GA. Her strong, sweet soul fought ovarian cancer for nearly 13 years. Through it all, she smiled, loved, lived, and hoped…always.

Becky is survived by her parents, Wayne and Ann Sanders; husband, Robert Davidson; daughters, Annie Davidson and Sarah Davidson (fiancé Israel Fortner); and brothers, Tommy Sanders (Kim), Steve Sanders (Brandy), and Greg Sanders (Michelle). She was a proud aunt to 9 nieces and nephews and great-aunt to two great-nieces.

Becky was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on February 6, 1968. She graduated from Cass High School in 1986, and Kennesaw State College in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married Robert, her high school sweetheart, on July 11, 1992. In ’95 and ’97, she and Robert welcomed their two daughters, who were her “greatest joys.”

Becky was an incredible mother and wonderful kindergarten teacher. She influenced lives all over—from the start of her career at Mission Road Elementary School, to Cloverleaf Elementary School, to Ohio, and back to Cartersville at Hamilton Crossing Elementary School where she spent most of her career. She retired from teaching in 2019. She was a blessing to everyone she met through her great kindness, love, and care for others. Her love and trust for God carried her through her entire life, and she drew her strength from Him daily. She was also a member of Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Her strength and joy were immeasurable, and she is loved by so, so many.

Due to her heartfelt care for others during the current pandemic, Becky requested that the memorial service remain small and be only for immediate family. If desired, memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance “OCRA” (online via ocrahope.org) or to Bartow County Backpack Buddies (by check made and sent to: Backpack Buddies, C/O Paula Womack, Cartersville City Schools, PO Box 3310, Cartersville GA 30120). Both of these organizations represent Becky very well—paying forth love to OCRA to benefit research for others with ovarian cancer, as well as continuing to share love with the students of Bartow County by sponsoring weekend meals for children in need.

Becky cherished every prayer, word of encouragement, and expression of love during her battle. She loved everyone dearly, and her concern for others never stopped. She had the toughest, most beautiful soul that radiated with light. Becky was always an angel among us on earth, and is now an angel with us in Heaven.

The family would like to thank all of our precious friends and family for the overwhelming amount of love and support.
