Clairece Jean Marie Hoo

Clairece Jean Marie Hoo transitioned on Sunday, October 25, 2020. Although her life was short-lived her impact on those she loved and those who loved her is everlasting.

Clairece was a licensed Master Cosmetologist in the states of New York and Georgia. She fell in love with the art of hair at a young age and after graduating High School and Cosmetology school in 2005, Clairece pursued her dreams with a vengeance.  She studied under Paul Mitchell and Dudley Hair Care Specialist Denise Michelle.  There she realized that she could build a respected career in the field of Cosmetology.

Committed to her lifelong passion of hair care, Clairece relocated to Georgia in 2016 becoming a part of Sila’s Salon & Bundle Boutique. There she thrived, taking initiatives to grow the business, to continue her educating within the industry, and to seek out training in wig making. Clairece was passionate, driven, committed and professional and those traits coupled with her style of customer service kept her clients coming back.  She believed that providing good customer service was a skill, often saying “…how you treat clients personally matters just as much as how well you do their hair.”

Clairece loved what she did and gave back to the industry as a team member of Next Level Concepts/Mentorship Academy for more than 10 years. She served as one of the lead conference coordinators for Mentorship Academy for 8 years and in 2019 she was unanimously appointed Secretary/Treasurer for Mentorship Academy’s Board of Directors. Mentorship Academy Advance Training Institute (MAATI) is a non-profit organization designed to assist aspiring beauty professionals in the field of cosmetology. Clairece was versatile and hair care wasn’t her only talent, in a nutshell she was creative through and through.  She excelled at everything she did creatively; pumpkin carving, painting or simple crafts with daughter, Anise. In a word, Clairece was a BOSS - Boldly, Openly, Seeking Success.

Clairece is survived by her daughter, Anise Marie McCray (father, Keith McCray & Anne D. Johnson (Anise’s Nana); Parents, Janice Williams, Augustine Francis (Stepfather); siblings John Pierre, (Step-siblings) Ernest and Ebony Francis; The Johnson family; Sila’s Salon & Bundle Boutique family and a host of professional colleagues and friends.

Rest in Power Clairece.
