Thomas Virdon Faile

Tom passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020. He was 76. Born on January 27, 1944, to Thomas Milford Faile and Velma Siers (both deceased) in Akron, OH, he graduated in 1962 from South High School. Tom would later go on to continue his education at The University of Akron to study industrial management where he joined the Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

He married Paulette Page in 1967. They raised two children and remained married for the next 53 years until her death on September 2, 2020. Together, they enjoyed traveling and opening their home to entertain family & friends.

Upon graduation in 1968, Tom was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.  He was stationed at Fort Riley and Fort Bragg before his oversees deployment to South Korea.  In Korea, Tom was a tank commander with responsibilities that included patrol of the demilitarized zone (DMZ). He returned to Akron, OH in November of 1970 following his honorable discharge with the rank of first lieutenant.

Tom began his civilian career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. There he would hold various positions and advance to become one of the company’s youngest managers. He stayed with Firestone as the manager of plant one until its permanent closing in 1981. Afterwards, it seemed only fitting that Tom’s charisma and sense of humor would lead him into a sales profession in the field of telecommunications. An industry he would remain with until his retirement in 2010 and reside him in Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia. Tom was the recipient of many awards and recognitions which included individual sales achievements and leading a district office to the top nationally ranked position.

While accomplished in his career, Tom always made it a priority to be involved in the lives of his children, Jeff and Jennifer. His enduring support and love for them was seen as he cheered from the stands or applauded them from his seat at a performance. As his children became adults he would see them through the graduations, marriages and the birth of his five grandchildren.

In 2005, Tom chose to publicly announced that he was a believer in Jesus. Paulette joined him in reaffirming her own proclamation of faith and they were baptized together.

Tom is survived by his children Jeff Faile (Angie) and Jennifer Bolding (Eric, deceased) and his grandchildren London, Joshua and Jonathan Faile and Ivey and Erica Bolding. He is also survived by his his sister-in-law, Phyllis Page Moye (Jack, deceased), and his nephews Michael and Adam Moye and their families and many cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to the past and present staff of The Oaks of Towne Lake and to Agape Hospice for their excellent care of Tom and for their kindness and consideration to him.

Arrangements for Tom are with Georgia Funeral Care of Acworth, GA.
