Chesley Merrick Alverson-Banks, a native of New Orleans, son of Donice Alverson and Bowdre Banks. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters Donice and Elizabeth and brother Bowdre. We remember Chesley for his intellect, his great sense of humor, his being a prankster, his keen wit tinged with a bit of mischief, his sparkling eyes, and his beautiful smile. Due to  covid19 restrictions, a private family funeral will be held in New Orleans. Because of what he gave us, we all continue to carry a bit of Chesley within us. Till we meet again.

Chesley, I remember washing the sun screen from your eyes when you were a little boy and we were on a beach vacation. I remember taking you to your first Saints game and reveling in your excitement and wonder. I guess you were 5 or 6. Rhone & Jude and I remember seeing you graduate from the police academy - so proud of what you achieved. You are in our hearts forever, we love you. You are fine and strong and now, we hope, you are at peace. You will always be with us. Love, Meg, Rhone and Jude Reply to this comment

I am so very sorry for my wonderful old friend, Donice, and her entire family for their loss. I remember Chesley as a baby and young child, and I know how much he was, and is, loved. Reply to this comment
