Elizabeth Jane Clendening

Elizabeth Jane Clendening, 96, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at her home in Mableton, Ga.  She was surrounded by her daughters Gayle Cole and Marsha Akin.  Elizabeth was born in Jamestown, NY on July 9, 1921.  Elizabeth and her husband Robert raised 5 children.  She earned her LPN license at the age of 59 and was a practicing nurse at Clayton General Hospital until her retirement in 1983.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Clendening, her step son Robert “Andrew” Clendening, her son-in-law Harold Akin and one great grandchild.  Elizabeth leaves behind her daughters, Marsha Akin, Nancy Jednaszewski, Gayle Cole and her son Robert “Bruce” Clendening.  She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, as well as 15 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, 3009 Chapel Hill Rd., Douglasville, Ga. on July 14, 2018 at 11:00 am.
