Mr. Jerrell (Jerry) W. Phillips, age 72, of Kennesaw, Georgia went home to be with the his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 16, 2018.  A native of Cobb County and first of 5 children born to Ferrell W. and the late Grace Phillips.  Jerrell served 8 years in the U. S. Coast Guard from 1966 to 1974 and obtained the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class.  He was an active member of the American Legion North Cobb Post #304, Acworth, Georgia.   He is survived by his son, Damon Phillips, his father, Ferrell Phillips, his brothers, Lynward (Lynn) and wife Dee, Malcom and wife Melissa and Michael and wife Becky Phillips and sister, Lawanda Kornegay.  4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10:00 am.  Officiating will be Rev. Lynn Phillips.  Honor guards will be provided by U. S. Coast Guard and the American Legion North Cobb Post #304.
