Mary M. Yates, born Christmas day, 1930 in Delaware City, Delaware to Nellie Henry Brown and Charles Brown departed this life on September 16, 2021, at the age of 90 from Acworth, Georgia where she had resided for the past 22 years. Mary retired as an Assistant Vice-President from JP Morgan Chase and relocated to Georgia over 30 years ago; having moved to the Peach state from a life well lived in New York City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Yates. She is survived by her sister Angela Crenshaw; two children: Lloyd Yates (m. Jackie) of Hempstead, New York and Cynthia Yates of Acworth, Georgia; “adopted” niece: Angela Warner; four grandchildren: Lance Yates, Chad Yates (m. Alexandria), Marisa Yates and Deidra Yates; and two great-grandchildren: Kelsey and Skyler Yates; and a host of nieces and nephews in Georgia, Delaware, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Mary Yates’ was cremated on September 19th and funeral services will be eschewed in favor of a memorial dinner to be held at a future date to be determined in the spring of 2022. In lieu of cards and flowers, the Alzheimer’s Association would be honored to accept donations in her memory. The family thanks each of you for your loving kindnesses and support.
