Thomas (Tommy) Edward DeVaux

Thomas (Tommy) Edward DeVaux of Dallas, Ga formerly of Marietta, Ga passed away on Saturday February 16, 2019 at the age of 65 after a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease. Tommy was born in 1953 in Mobile, AL. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic school until his family moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1961. Tommy graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1971. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Al. Tommy joined the Marines in 1972. He was stationed in San Antonio, Tx where he met his wife Debra. Tommy and Debra were married on February 14th, 1976. He was Honorably discharged from the Marines in 1980. 

Tommy worked in telecommunications. His last employment was at SBA Network Services where he retired with disability in 2016. Tommy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #15996 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Acworth Ga.  He was a former member of Knights of Columbus Council #9923 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kennesaw. Tommy is survived by his wife Debra. His children, Nathan (Kate), Natalie (Peter), grandchildren Anastasia, Patrick, and Sam, his mother Mary, his brothers David (Barbara), Billy (Kathy), Larry (Susan), Chris (Angie), sister Cindy (Paul). He was preceded in death by his father Francis, and his brother Steven. 

Funeral Mass will be at St. Clair of Assisi in Acworth, Ga on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will be Monday Feb 25, 2019 at 10:00 am at the National Cemetery in Canton Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Kidney Foundation in Tommy’s name.
