To Gary’s family I owe a great deal of thanks to Gary Blodgett. He hired me at Alabama Power in 1974 right out of college. In fact Gary offered me my first real job in March before I graduated in May 74 Gary was very intelligent and had a very logical and reasoned approach to solving problems. I was always impressed with how he used his electrical engineering degree as a distribution engineer and utility manager. Gary could explain in non engineering terms how our work in inventory management impacted Alabama Power. Gary loved his daughters and parents. Once when traveling to St Petersburg, I visited Gary’s mother. She was happy to welcome me and my wife and it was obvious she loved her son and her granddaughters I will always remember Gary Blodgett as a fine man and for his contribution to my professional development Reply to this comment

Your dad played a major role in my life. My first real job was at Alabama Power and he was our boss. He "took me in" not only professionally, but also as a "little sister". Helping him select charms for your bracelets, etc. was so much fun. And like my father, he loved you both deeply. You were his pride and joy. And may you relish your memories and know that he was truly a special man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. God Bless! Reply to this comment

This comment is for Gary E. Blodgett obituary: Lainie and Laurie I was so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. He was such a wonderful man and a very good neighbor to David for me for all those years. I have fond memories of talking to him in the front yard about Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was such a fan and enjoyed going to games when he could. My deepest sympathy to your family. Sue Tarter Reply to this comment
