James Bringhurst

James M. Bringhurst (aka- Big Jim, the Great White Horse and P.I.T.A) passed away on Friday, December 13th. He was born on August 1st, 1942 in Philadelphia PA, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Harkins) Bringhurst. He graduated from Fr. Judge High School and attended La Salle University before enlisting in the Army Reserves. James was employed with Wells Fargo Bank in Philadelphia, Pa and retired with them after more than 40 years of employment. He also received recognition for being a member of the Delran Sewage Authority for more than 5 years. He enjoyed spending time on his boat, fondly named Family Matters or later the Ka-Syd with all his marina friends. If not enjoying time on his boat, he loved spending time with his grandchildren or racing around in his Corvette. James could be a bit stubborn at times, but was also an extremely generous man. He would always do whatever he could to help, no request was too small. We know that he is finally at peace and happy to be reunited with his parents, 2 sisters and all his aunts and uncles. He was survived by his son, Joseph Bringhurst and wife Priscilla (Effler) William Bringhurst and his wife Kathryn (McCullen) and daughter, Michelle Bringhurst. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Katlynn Bringhurst (Evan Lucas), Sydney Bringhurst, Jack Bringhurst and Grayson Johnson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Eileen McLaughlin and Catherine Boland.

“Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter now into the kingdom of Heaven”

Per his final wishes, the family services will be private.
