Ronald Eugene Heffner of Woodstock, Ga. better known as “Ron” or “Friend”, especially to widows or anyone in need, has received his upward call, at age 52, to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 28, 2019. Ron loved life to the fullest! Some of those loves were being a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher here at FBCW. In his younger years, he was proud and honored to serve our country in the 82nd Airborn division of the U.S. Army.  After his time in service,  he has enjoyed being the owner of  "Heritage Heating and Air," which he used often to minister to people. No gesture to small to show his passion for others. He leaves behind his loving wife of 29yrs, Becky, or as Ron affectionately called her, “Petit,” whom he enjoyed birding with, his father, Clyde Edwin Heffner from St. Marys, OH. Ron also leaves behind his son, Adam, a soon to be graduate of Kennesaw State University, with whom he enjoyed bonding in true NASCAR fashion. Before he got his upward call, he was blessed to give his daughter Sarah in marriage, to her love, John Opris, last November. He also leaves behind his mother, Deloris Irene Carr, “Dee,”of Canton Ga., and his elder brother, Wayne Heffner of Woodstock Illinois. And multiple nieces and nephews.

To anyone blessed to have known Ron, and experienced his bigger than life personality, and his ability to turn any boring story into a tale of laughter, the family invites you to join them, in a “Celebration of his life service.” Saturday, May 4th at 2pm at First Baptist Church Woodstock, in the Chapel.

Ron was a True man of God. He was one of many people that help me when I move to GA. Also can’t forget the Mission trip to West Virginia. He was all in. Lots of energy. And cook for us. Later he became my Sunday school Teacher. RIP. Will be missed. Reply to this comment

Wishing you some small comfort in this time of sorrow. I very much enjoyed Ron's photos in our B5 birding group. He had a very keen eye for the shots he took and we welcomed his comments here in Canada as he would always alert us when the migratory birds were heading north. We will miss him on the site. Rest in peace Ron. You'll be missed for sure! Reply to this comment

Ron's presence will be missed in the bird and wildlife photography groups on Facebook. He was always the first to react and comment on a member's picture and was forever encouraging. His love of photography, birds and wildlife in general was evident in every picture he shared. My heart goes out to his wife, Rebecca, and their children. I'm so very sorry. Reply to this comment
